My woman left me without any warning
My woman left me without any clue
Lay down at night, tears on my pillow
Tell me what can a poor do?

Went to the station, I asked the conductor
“Was my baby on that midnight train?”
He said, “Hey son, how can I tell you
With wimmens jumpin' on and off again.”

So many blues to carry in this world
They sure are fit to drive a man insane
So much is wrong and nothin' ain't right
Believe I've got them lonesome blues again

7. Lonesome Blues
(McGowan) Well – this is pretty bleak. Kind of Skip James falsetto. Slide and harp playing sound reasonable. I'm happy enough with it. Looks like I can't escape from the blues – I always seem to write one or two for each collection. --Davy

What a nice peaceful blues. Great harp, slide and guitar - as always. If all blueses were like this, I would be a bluesenist. --Jore
